BuzzHouse Official Launch
We are excited to invite all media studies students & staff as well as all our partners, supporters and other interested parties for the Official Launch of BuzzHouse on Thursday, December 9. Due to the current corona measures, we do not really have a time-specific grand opening but a relaxed open house on a walk-in basis spread throughout the day. In other words, just come and have a look at BuzzHouse somewhere between 11am to 5pm that day. We will be there to welcome you and show you this new co-working space and creative community for mediastudies students and staff at BG5! And at 3.30pm we have a more formal moment, with some opening speeches and a talk by Isabelle Britto from The Black Archives. So keep aside all (or at least some of) your work that day and make yourself ready to visit the BuzzHouse on Thursday, December 9, somewhere between 11am and 5pm!
What is BuzzHouse?
BuzzHouse is a new physical space and creative community where media studies students of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) are able to gain experience in 'doing' media, i.e. the praxis of media productions and events. At the crossroads of theoretical and practical media studies, students who are, or want to be, creators and explorers in media and event production can work, learn, meet and connect at BuzzHouse.
When is BuzzHouse open?
The Official Launch of BuzzHouse will take place on Thursday, December 9, with an open house on a walk-in basis from 11am-5pm. Then, from Monday, December 13 onwards, media studies (and other humanities) students can come to BuzzHouse to study, work or just relax. We will be open five days a week, from 10am to 6pm (except when our space is booked for a public or private event).
Where to find BuzzHouse?
You can find BuzzHouse in the Round Room at BG5 (Oudezijds Achterburgwal 233-237), in the heart of UvA’s humanities campus. The entrance is located at (and then past) coffee bar Prisma, from there you need to go to first floor (signage will be provided).
